Assistant Artist, Creative Kin
- Hours: 8 x 90-minute sessions, plus 1 family day
- Location: North Ayrshire
Starcatchers is looking for an assistant artist for 3 months to support the Creative Kin Project. Creative Kin supports kinship families with children from birth to 5 years in North Ayrshire, through weekly creative play sessions and family events.
The role of the assistant artist will be to support the role of the lead artist with planning and logistics (including sourcing materials), and delivery or the role of running, planning and delivery of 8 x 90-minute sessions. Plus, attendance at one family day. The fee for this role is £900 plus travel expenses. The fee includes session attendance, prep and planning time.
The dates of the project are –
- 16th, 27th October
- 3rd, 10th 17th November
- 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd December 2021.
The family event will be held at Eglinton Park and the weekly sessions in Irvine.
This role would suit a creative, enthusiastic person with an interest in arts for early years and community practise. The key skills we are looking for are communication skills and creativity. We are working to make Starcatchers a place that is welcoming and safe for those historically excluded from the Scottish arts sector. This includes (but isn’t limited to) global majority artists, disabled artists and queer, trans and gender non-conforming artists.
