- Deadline: 5:00pm, 9 January 2025
- Location: Platform, or associated venues in North East Glasgow
Starcatchers and Platform are both celebrating their 20th Anniversaries in 2026. As part of our anniversary programmes, we would like to commission an Early Years Artist/s to develop a new and original event for early years audiences that will be shared as part of Made in Easterhouse 20:26 – a programme of work featuring 26 creative projects celebrating our 20th anniversary.
This event will be developed through collaborative play and regular contact with babies, children and adults from North East Glasgow through Play Cafe sessions running at Platform and across the local area.
The Made in Easterhouse Early Years Artist Residency will support an Artist in Residence to research early stage ideas, in partnership with Platform and Starcatchers.
Phase 1: Delivery of 20 Play Cafe sessions, at Platform or associated venues.
Phase 2: Sharing of work in a public facing, celebratory event that collates material that has been created during this project, as part of anniversary programming.
Phase 3: Reflection meeting with Starcatchers/Platform
Fee: There is a fee of £6,000 available for this work. This is based on £200 per delivery session, and £2,000 for planning, development time and the sharing. There is also a seed fund of up to £3,000 available to bring in additional artists.
Deadline: Friday 9th January, 5pm
Find out more on how to apply by reading the recruitment pack. We are especially keen to engage an artist from a background typically underrepresented in early years arts. This commission is open to artists from marginalised backgrounds, specifically global majority artists, disabled artists, d/Deaf artists and/or artists from working-class backgrounds.
