New Winter & Spring Tour of The Attic

13 November 2017

Starcatchers and Hazel Darwin-Clements present new production of The Attic for 2 – 4 year olds and their adults, playing in Fife and Edinburgh over Christmas 2017/18, with a full Scottish Tour in Spring 2018.

The Attic was first created by Hazel Darwin-Clements as part of her residency at the Byre Theatre in St Andrews in 2011, and then toured in 2012 in Scotland. With set design by Karen Tenant, music composed by David Paul Jones and directed by Heather Fulton, The Attic wove the beautiful story of young Lucy and her Grandmother as they explore their memories in the dusty attic.

Recently, Starcatchers secured funding through Creative Scotland to re-mount the production and tour to Fife and Edinburgh in Dec and January 2018, with a Spring Tour in April/May 2018.

Set to a live, original piano score, two characters discover a magical place filled with hidden treasures. The precious remainders of past generations are woven into new memories as Lucy entices her grandmother to enter her imaginary world. Little ones and their carers are invited to watch and then join in an extravagant tea party under the stars.

The Attic will begin its new journey at Carnegie Hall in Fife on 12 December, before playing at The Studio at the Festival Theatre from 6 January 2018.
