Ethelinda is currently the Curriculum Manager of Performing Arts Studio Scotland (PASS) which encompasses, dance, acting, theatre costume, musical theatre, technical theatre and make-up artistry, as well as photography at Edinburgh College. She is a fully qualified Pilates teacher and an ILM work based coach. Prior to this she was a freelance dance artist with an interest in dance performance and choreography. She became a dancer with Dundee Rep Dance Company (Scottish Dance Theatre) in 1989 and in 1994 worked in Scottish Theatre as a choreographer and movement director.  In 2008, she achieved an MA in Dance and Theatre Practice through LIPA and Liverpool John Moors University by investigating the Black Dancing Body and Pilates Contrology. Her lifelong mentor in this area is Jo Butterworth. She has completed her Teacher Qualification in Further Education through Aberdeen University and her Strategic Management and Leadership qualification through the Chartered Management Institute at level 11.

She sits on the Academic Council and the Widening Access Steering Group at Edinburgh College and is very passionate about curriculum development. As a member of the Advanced Higher Education working group have been working towards developing an anti-racist curriculum to provide representation in further education and higher education from Scotland’s widening diverse society. She supports the Pilates Foundation Board in my capacity as a Diversity & Inclusion champion and she is also very pleased to be working with the Scottish HR Leadership Group as part of the SAADI committee who are focused on driving structural change in many organisations. She is honoured and delighted to have recently accepted an invitation to join The Dance Base Board, with whom she has enjoyed a close relationship for over 25 years.
