Fiona Ferrier is a clown, theatre maker and youth theatre artist. Fiona trained in clown at Playspace, Sydney, in 2002 and has been a therapeutic clown with Hearts&Minds since 2004 visiting children and vulnerable people in hospitals, hospices, schools and care homes throughout Scotland. In 2016 Fiona created Dirliebane Theatre Company with Rachel Colles through a shared passion to create clown theatre for children and young people. Dirliebane is about connection and playfulness to explore themes that are important to the audience. Together they have created four shows and a series of films. BIG (about starting Primary 1), SPACE (starting Secondary School), films focusing on emotional health and wellbeing, BOUNCE (emotional literacy) and ‘The Cinnamon Sisters’ (a Christmas show about family, in collaboration with Perth Theatre). Fiona has also taught youth theatre and clown in UK, Australia and USA since 1998 and has her own company, Skedaddle Youth Theatre.
