Rachel is an actor, therapeutic clown artist and Co-Artistic Director of Dirliebane Theatre Company. Rachel loves creating playful and physical performance with the audience kept at the centre of all her work.
Since training at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Rachel has performed in many productions including Alice in Wonderland, The Government Inspector, The Biker King, The Wright Stuff, Heart of the Wood, The Giraffe, the Pelly and Me, Don Quixote, The Jungle Book, The Firebird, Anthony & Cleopatra and Infinite Variety. Since 2007 Rachel has been a therapeutic clown with Hearts & Minds visiting children and vulnerable people in hospitals, hospices, schools and care homes throughout Scotland as Dr Mousse and Blossom Elderflower. There she met Fiona and they went on to form Dirliebane Theatre Company. Dirliebane is about connection and playfulness to explore themes that are important to the audience. Together they have created four shows and a series of films. BIG (about starting Primary 1), SPACE (starting Secondary School), films focusing on emotional health and wellbeing, BOUNCE (exploring emotions) and The Cinnamon Sisters, a Christmas show for 0-5 year olds in collaboration with Perth Theatre.
