Starcatchers delivers free creative play sessions in Fife for parents with a little one from birth to 2 years. Pop-Up Park Play sessions are currently held on a weekly basis in Cowdenbeath and are led by early years artists and musicians.
The pop-up sessions are part of Starcatchers’ Where We Are project, which aims to connect with participants in the communities where they live and is delivered in partnership with Fife Gingerbread. The content of the sessions is shaped by what interests the little ones and their grown-ups taking part, and cover many different art-forms including photography, painting, sculpture, felt making, music, creative moment and puppetry.
As well as regular sessions there are opportunities to visit and engage with cultural activities in their area. We aim to empower these young parents – boosting their confidence, forging new relationships and developing strong bonds with their babies through regular and continued contact with arts and creativity.
