Little Light
Come and explore the world of Little Light in this highly interactive and visual performance which has been specially created for children aged birth-3 and their parents or carers.
2008
Come and visit a very special house where all is not as it seems. Watch the rooms and chimneys grow, and see how many shapes and textures you can spot!
My House was first performed at NEAC in February 2007. The production has gone on to capture the imaginations of young children at festivals in Scotland, Spain, Italy and Austria as well as the New Victory Theatre, New York as part of a season of Scottish Children’s Theatre supported by Imaginate and the Scottish Government Edinburgh Festival’s Expo Fund.
This is theatre that explores the boundaries. Not in terms of what it says, but in terms of who it speaks to. Which, in the case of My House, means children between the ages of 18 months and three years…It might look like child’s play, but it keeps its audience transfixed and proves that you can, indeed, create real theatre for this age group.
My House premiered at Starcatchers Symposium in 2007, and toured to the Imaginate Festival (Edinburgh) La Baracca Visioni Festival (Italy) and Accion Educativa (Madrid) in 2008, the Bim Bam Festival, Salzburg and the New Victory Theatre in New York in 2009, and has since toured to Finland, Spain, Germany, Lichtenstein, Northern Ireland and France.

…its atmosphere of exploration, wonder and recognition is enthralling; and to judge by the excited response of some of the 18-month-olds in the front row, it hit their tiny, blossoming imaginations in exactly the right spot.
