Wee Inspirations
Bunny’s Eye View
-
The basic idea
When wee ones use cameras, we get to see their perspective of the world and they can show us details and views we might normally miss!
-
Over to you, wee one
Next time you’re playing with stuffed toys or dolls, say “I wonder what they see?” and get down to their level. Let your child take photos from the toy’s perspective: face the toys in different directions and play with angles: up at the ceiling, under tables, hidden in a cupboard!
-
Cheeky bonuses
- Empathy – understanding of other people’s points of view
- Learning about space and distance – key skills for early numeracy
-
Variations
- Take your stuffed friend on your next walk to play around with what they see in different locations: at the park or on the way home from nursery.
- If you have a selfie stick play with height – what does bunny see from on top of the kitchen cupboards? Or under the sofa?
-
And remember…
It’s not about taking the perfect photo – many will end up blurry! Ask them to explain the photos to you later. It’s all about letting them take control, being the expert and showing you something.
