Starcatchers are working in partnership with Glasgow City Council Early Years Team to run a series of sessions around the consultation project Understanding the experience of birth-2s within Early Learning and Childcare. We want to create a community of practice where the Voice of babies and young children help shape ELC practice and strategy.
Academic researchers Dr.Rachel Drury and Dr. Cara Blaisdell who developed Starcatchers’ Voice of the Baby research will be working with artists, settings and families to explore this question. Starcatchers artists Claire Rucket, Sam Jameson and Brian Hartley are delivering three phases of creative consultation sessions in ELC settings in Glasgow. These sessions will share learning updates from the project, explore self-reflection tools developed during this work, and support practitioners to share best practice with their peers.

Starcatchers, in partnership with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, are collaborating on a research project exploring current and emerging rights-based approaches in the arts for children from birth to 3 years in Scotland.
Starcatchers is working with local nurseries in Helensburgh, to deliver Wee People, Big Feelings, an emotional literacy training programme for early years practitioners.
After the success of Wee People Big Feelings in Midlothian and Argyll and Bute, Starcatchers has now extended the programme to Moray. During this programme, we will be working with local nurseries to deliver our emotional literacy training programme for early years practitioners.
