Wee Inspirations

Cosy Cocoons

  1. The Basic Idea

There’s a lot of cosy moments in the show. Why not lay your wee one in the middle of a blanket and with another adult gently lift them up in the fabric and swing from side to side.

  2. Over To You, Wee One

Let your wee one take the lead, offer a blanket and watch how they explore creating their own cocoon, maybe they will roll, cover or hide they are engaging in schematic play. Put a piece of paper or fabric on their feet or arms and see how they engage with it.

  3. Cheeky Bonuses

    • Young children learn about the world through their senses
    • Bonding and chill out time together
    • Gross Motor Skills
  4. Variations

    • Wee one doesn’t want to be cocooned? Don’t worry! You can lie together cheek to cheek, then head to head, and keep changing body parts to create that lovely cosy closeness.
    • Change the lighting or add some music in your space to help create that cosy atmosphere.
  5. And Remember...

Don’t worry if your little one isn’t in the mood to relax and snuggle. This idea can be enjoyed at any time, so simply choose a moment that suits you both.
