The Voice of the Child
Starcatchers and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland are partners in a research project exploring current and emerging rights-based approaches in the arts for children aged 0-3 in Scotland.
In this episode of Starcatchers’ podcast series Let’s Talk About…, Starcatchers Chief Executive, Rhona Matheson, is joined by Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Dr Rachel Drury.
Music psychologist, practicing musician and artist, Rachel is the lead researcher on Starcatchers’ and RCS’s Voice of the Child project. Here, Rachel and Rhona discuss why babies’ voices matter and explore the findings of the first stage of Starcatchers’ and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s research into a new arts-based methodology for early-years participation: “Towards an arts-based methodology for participation with pre- and non-verbal children (birth – 3 years)”.
