Wee Inspirations

Funny Mirror

  1. The Basic Idea

Try copying your babies facial expressions, movements, and sounds. Your wee one will love that you’re taking the time to tune into them.

  2. Over to you, wee one

Try making the expressions, movements or noises smaller or bigger, faster or slower. See what captures your wee one’s attention and repeat it – and of course have fun!

  3. Cheeky Bonuses

    • Copying your wee one, or mirroring, can help develop empathy, bonding and teamwork
    • Physical development: hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills
    • Helps children tune in to all the different ways their bodies can move and the different sounds they can make
  4. Variations

    • Play with your face! Try doing different emotions to each other – happy, sad, surprised, angry, etc. See what your wee one enjoys
    • Try different expressions, movements and noises and see if your baby mirrors you
  5. And Remember...

Sometimes your wee one may lose interest. But don’t worry! Try short bursts of mirroring with free movement between them.
