The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust has funded Moray Council and Starcatchers to work in partnership to offer training opportunities to the early years workforce who work with Forces Families. Over the next 18 months, Starcatchers’ will be running sessions in 5 local nurseries working directly with the staff, wee ones and their families to develop creative play kits that help develop emotional literacy.
Local artists Heather Fulton and Ruby Worth will be working on the programme, bringing lots of fun, creative ways to support emotional literacy.
This programme is developed from Starcatchers original Wee People Big Feelings in 2022, a programme working with forces families with wee ones from two years old to age five, and practitioners in Scots Corner to explore how creativity can help early years children to understand and express their feelings.
