Artist Roz McAndrew wins Fife Gingerbread Trust Award

We’re delighted to announce that Starcatchers Play and Explore lead artist, Roz McAndrew, has won Fife Gingerbread’s award for Trust at the organisation’s 2022 AGM on Wednesday 5th October. 

During the gathering, Fife Gingerbread announced the winners of awards nominated by families they work with.  Roz was nominated by a family who takes part in Starcatchers Play and Explore, a project run in partnership with Fife Gingerbread. Play and Explore offers creative play sessions with little ones from birth to 2 years in Dunfermline and Cowdenbeath, Fife. Truly baby-led, the outdoor sessions respond to the needs and interests of families – from messy mud and dino play, to outdoor rhythms and messy music, each sessions is full of exciting new resources and materials for wee ones to discover. 

The parent described feeling Roz “has gone above and beyond, and she’s emotionally involved in the situation. She makes me feel like her help and advice comes from a place of love and honesty. She’s wiped my tears and my sons snot and she’s hyped me up on my small victories that usually go unseen. I look forward to each play session knowing she will be there, ready, in any form I need her whether that be a laugh or an offload. She reminds me of sunflowers, honey and all things yellow truly a great person. We love her.”
