Our Work

In the Community

Our community engagement projects are inclusive, welcoming, creative explorations into the positive impact artists can have within a community and the benefit of the arts on the lives of young children and their families. We value partnership working and seek to immerse ourselves in the communities we engage for a full understanding of the needs and interests of participants.

Our projects use the arts and creativity as the vehicle to strive towards strengthening the parent-child bond and whole family support, nurture the wellbeing of participants, and to develop Scotland’s youngest citizens’ sense of agency and independence.

Starcatchers’ approach is collaborative, relationship-centric, and baby-led; a journey of artistic discovery for participants, which is developed and facilitated by early years artists, who are there to guide and support the play between an adult and their young child.

We currently deliver community engagement projects in Edinburgh, Fife and Moray, with pop-up experiences available for events. Discover more by using the filter below to explore our projects in the different areas across Scotland, and past projects in our archive.
